Successful Financial Planning for Your Future
Let us help you plan and invest your money wisely while protecting your assets. That's what comprehensive financial planning is all about. At Nearman Financial Consulting, we help grow the money you have now to provide for you and yours in the future.
Many people feel that they can handle their own financial affairs, or at least they think that they should. But from our experience, most people plan their finances as if it were a crapshoot: They invest here, they invest there, without investing within the parameters of a financial plan. Nor do they review it frequently to stay on track. Sure, most people are intelligent enough to handle their own financial affairs but do they actually do it with consistent focus. You get the point!
A Meaningful Life Requires Planning
Few people achieve success on anything they do without a plan. Do you have a plan? Do you need help developing a plan?
Other than your retirement, the single-biggest one-time expense for you just might be the education of your child(ren). With college tuition inflation rising faster than the overall U.S. infation rate by far, you must plan ahead to make sure you have the college funding available to put your kids through four years of advanced education. Education for your kids, to us, is the most important gift you can give them.
Retirement is even more challenging. Pensions are pretty much a thing of the past. It's all on you now to devote some of your earnings now to your future.
The truth of the matter is that most Americans simply are not getting it done. Credit card use continues to climb, as does credit card trouble. Recent stats say that 40% of Americans cannot weather an extra $400 expense in any given month. People are living on the edge and it cannot feel good.
The beauty of comprehensive financial planning is that it is evolutionary, not static. We update our clients' plans quarterly, semi-annually, annually, or whenever something changes in their lives, such as marriage, children, divorce, college graduation, weddings, or the purchase of a car or house. Consider us your trusted financial life partner.
Budgeting for Now & the Future
It seems that most Americans do not have a budget for their finances. Our experience with clients since 1987 has proven that few people actually know how much money they spend each month or even how much they earn every month. We basically pay the bills and hope there is money left over in the savings/checking accounts.
Budgeting is a process where one plans for future income and expenses. It is not a straightjacket: It is a guide. Budgeting helps us plan for critical future inflows and outflows of money and allows us to track where our money goes and how to bolster savings/investments.
Realize that spending $5 a day every day of the year totals $1,825 in one year, and $18,250 in 10 years, not including interest and/or investment gain. This is not to say that you shouldn't spend $5-15 per day eating out or buying designer coffees or whatever it is that you like to do daily. But, just know that these things can and do add up. And they subtract from your total assets, such as retirement monies.
Our experience has shown that in all walks of life, when you develop and share your plan with another person, you tend to feel more accountable for adhering to the plan and succeeding with it. You are safe to share your dreams with us - we never judge!
